All vistors, from local residents, and day tripers, to international groups come into the Tube. Inside they can watch films about the City of Cardiff, and see the variety of exhibitions on display. It was the idea of architect William Alsop to create a futuristic building like a giant telescope, focusing on the Cardiff Bay panorama. The building itself is made of a steel frame supporting plywood panels, covered with a weatherproof skin. You will notice the seagull shaped cut-outs in the roof. These are designed to let in natural light andcreate a nautical feel.

Cardiff Harbour Authority stage exhibitions in the Visitor Centre 3 times a year. Each exhibition is designed to reflect aspects of life in Cardiff Bay. The exhibitions have proved to be a huge success with the local, national and international communities as demonstrated by the wonderful comments in our visitors book and memory board.
We hope that you enjoy your visit and the information provided on the panels and the model. And don't forget all the staff are there to help you enjoy your visit.
